[Photo of Elizabeth Neale, Ed.D.]Elizabeth Neale, Ed.D., is President and Executive Director of the National School Leaders Network, established in 2006 to support and mentor principals across the U.S. She has extensive experience in the field of education, serving for 10 years as principal of an elementary school in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Lower School Head at a private elementary school in Lenox, MA, and as faculty at Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield, MA. Before that, Neale was an independent consultant, working with social services, hospitals and businesses to establish educational programs and community partnerships. She worked as Educational Director for the Berkshire Center for Families and Children in Pittsfield, MA for 16 years. She is Co-Chair of Harvard Principals’ Center Advisory Board, and was Chair of the Northeast Principals Leadership Network, Brown University Educational Alliance; a member of the Board of Governors, Brown University Educational Alliance; President of the Massachusetts Elementary School Principals’ Association, and a member of the U.S. Department of Education Regional Advisory Committee. She received the honor of National Distinguished Principal from Massachusetts for 2002-2003 and participated in a Fulbright Recipient Administrator Exchange in London, England in 2004. Neale was awarded a NAESP National Mentoring Certification, was a five-time winner of the Secretary of Environmental Affairs Environmental Excellence in Education Award and has been a delegate to the National Principals Summits in Washington, DC from 2000 to 2005. She earned an Ed.D. degree from the University of Massachusetts in Educational Administration, a M.A. degree from North Adams State College in Elementary Education and a B.A. from The George Washington University in Political Science.
